Collaboration between Oswaldo Macia and Patrick Jolley

Soufflé is a composition that combines sound and visual elements to create an intriguing dialogue about the possibilities that we create when we place together these two main senses. The title –Soufflé- refers to how well they connect with each other.

This work is an exploration about the physical boundaries of our sensorial realities and a test of our limitations and the relations made possible by those limitations. Soufflé is located at the borders of those two senses.

The visual presentation of the piece involves four surrounding films showing slow flowing layers of edible looking sauces.

The soundscape for the composition comes from recording of the different machines used in slaughterhouses. These mechanical "voices" will be played in eight-channel surround-sound format.
